Important - AGM News

Hello Raiders,

The 2009 season has finished and it is already time to start laying the foundations for 2010. We have moved the Annual General Meeting to Friday, November 27th this year to allow extra time for preparation in the new year.

It will be held in the back bar of the 2 Brewers starting at 6:30pm.

What happens at the AGM? Following a managers summary the committee provides a financial report of the season and will answer any questions from the members. Members vote on any approved amendments to the club's constitution, including the committee structure (these must be submitted prior to the meeting - see below), and finally the new committee is elected and we give a big thank you to the outgoing committee.

It's important that all our members attend, this is your chance to choose the people who will run your club next season and will make the decisions that will have a direct impact on your softball experience. Every member gets a vote, come along and use it.

We will be starting the evening at 6.30pm with a FREE, yes FREE finger buffet and registration. Starting at 7:15pm we will go through the attached agenda and aim to be finished by 8:30pm when the social drinking can begin, so plan to stay and make a night of it at the 2Brewers.


New Committee 2010


Thank you again to the members of the 2009 committee for all the passion, time, ideas and work that you've put into this year's club management. Committee job descriptions are attached for anyone who is interested in being on the committee next year. Your club needs people to keep volunteering to be committee members, without them the club will cease to exist. You don't have to be a long standing member to join the committee, it's your chance to have a say in the direction of the club and to give something back. The committee roles usually involve co-ordinating and working on one area of the club (e.g. tournaments) and participating in meetings, either once or twice a month, depending on the time of year. We actively seek members who will represent the diverse interests and experiences of the club.

If you are already interested in being on the committee - even if you would like to be involved but you are not sure in what role - please email managers@londonraiders.com

Constitution


The existing constitution is attached. If you would like to propose any amendments, you must forward them by email, along with name of the person who seconds your amendments, to managers@londonraiders.com before November 16th so that we can process them and distribute them in time for the members to vote on them at the AGM. You may be asked to explain your proposal at the meeting.

Tournament deposits


For those members who paid a £20 tournament deposit and didn't forfeit it we have it waiting for you, you have three choices:

1. If you would like to leave your tournament deposit against your name for next year, you don't need to do anything.

2. If you would like your tournament deposit paid back to your account, you need to email treasurer@londonraiders.com with:

Your name as it appears on your bank account
Your Sort Code
Your account number
The header of the email should read Tournament Deposit Transfer

3. If you would like to collect your deposit back in person at the AGM, you need to email treasurer@londonraiders.com with your name before November 16.
